1. Acceptance of the terms

By accessing and using the MesterBun platform (the "Platform"), you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions (the "Terms"). If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the Platform.

MesterBun is an online platform that makes it easier to connect people looking for craft and trade services ("Clients") with professionals who offer such services ("Craftsmen").

2. Definitions

• "Platform" - the mesterbun.com website and its associated applications
• "User" - any person who accesses or uses the Platform
• "Client" - a user looking for craft and trade services
• "Craftsman" - a registered professional who offers services through the Platform
• "Request" - a Client's request for a specific service
• "Offer" - a Craftsman's proposal to carry out a Request
• "Job" - the service agreed and carried out between the Client and the Craftsman

3. Registration and account

3.1 Registration requirements:

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Providing accurate and complete information
• Keeping your login details confidential
• One account per person

3.2 Additional requirements for Craftsmen:

• Holding the qualifications and permits required for the services offered
• Professional liability insurance (recommended)
• Compliance with occupational health and safety rules
• Completing the platform's verification process

4. Client obligations

• Describing the requested work accurately and completely
• Providing access to the work location as scheduled
• Promptly communicating any changes or cancellations
• Paying for services on time, as agreed with the Craftsman
• Leaving fair reviews based on real experience
• Respecting the intellectual property and content of Craftsmen

5. Craftsman obligations

• Providing accurate and transparent offers
• Keeping to appointments and communicating any delays
• Carrying out work to professional standards
• Using materials that match the agreed specifications
• Complying with occupational health and safety and environmental protection rules
• Providing a warranty for the work carried out (minimum 30 days)
• Issuing tax documents as required by law
• Maintaining professional liability insurance (where applicable)

6. Payments and fees

6.1 For Clients:

• Creating an account, posting requests and receiving offers are free; the optional Premium plan (direct requests to a specific Craftsman) is paid, at the price shown on the pricing page
• Services are paid directly to the Craftsman
• Payment methods are agreed with the Craftsman

6.2 For Craftsmen:

• Registration includes a 30-day free trial; after that, the platform is used on a subscription basis
• Premium subscriptions are available for increased visibility
• A 5-10% fee for jobs arranged through the platform (future plans)
• Payments processed through authorised partners (Netopia)

7. Cancellations and disputes

7.1 Cancellations:

• Free cancellation at least 24 hours before the appointment
• Late cancellations may incur penalties under each Craftsman's own policy
• Repeated cancellations may lead to account restrictions

7.2 Dispute resolution:

• Direct communication between the parties as a first step
• Mediation by the platform on request (not mandatory)
• Arbitration or the competent court under Romanian law

8. Limitation of liability

MesterBun acts solely as an intermediary between Clients and Craftsmen. Therefore:

• We are not a party to the contracts between Clients and Craftsmen
• We do not guarantee the quality or outcome of the work carried out
• We are not responsible for damage resulting from the services provided
• Our checks do not constitute a guarantee of competence
• Reviews reflect the opinions of users, not of the platform

Our liability is limited to the value of the subscription paid in the last 12 months.

9. Intellectual property

• The "MesterBun" trademark and logo are our property
• The platform's content is protected by copyright
• Users retain the rights to the content they upload
• You grant the platform a licence to use the content you upload

10. Changes to the terms

We reserve the right to change these Terms at any time. Changes will be:

• Published on this page with the date of the update
• Notified by email in the case of significant changes
• Effective 30 days after notification for existing users

Continuing to use the platform after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Romanian law. Any dispute will be settled by the competent courts in Romania, except where consumer protection law provides otherwise.
